Hi all who follow TGG. I hope you are all getting excited about Taunton's first ever Pride this Saturday, it's going to be a great day and I hope as many of you as possible get to see what you want to and enjoy all the great things on offer across the county town.
I've been putting off saying this widely but as I'm getting a few media enquiries and link up requests re TGG for Saturday, I need to let people know that sadly I can't now be there in person - I've fallen at the final hurdle and have managed to catch coronavirus, so currently recovering in 'covid jail'. Naturally I'm utterly devastated that I can't be there to greet people and enjoy the day but... TGG will still very much be there and I'd like to give a massive thank you to Azzy and helpers in advance for agreeing to step in, so we can still have our stall, meet people and raise awareness of our fab little inclusive group, now in its 3rd year of bringing LGBTQ+ people together - to celebrate what great friendships it's already created and all the good stuff happening in Taunton. Pride has really galvanised our community, the rainbow path, Pride in Art/Q Art, the LoveWINdows trail - so much to be proud of and so much to stand up and fight for. It'll be a little scaled back to what was planned, but we'll still have all the TGG info materials plus some freebies and I really hope as many people as possible will come and say hi. SLN are still due to join in as planned so they can also share their info, and it'll still look FABULOUS. It's a chance to chat to TGG goers about what we are and do, and also you can just come and say hi and sit (please follow all the event's covid safe guidance of course). If you've been to a TGG meet up before please come and see us, if you've never been but want to know more please come and chat and pick up some info. x As for me and the hubby who is shut in with me, we'll hopefully be watching all the live feeds on Sat as they happen and creating our own little Pride in the back garden - pics will be shared and we live near the railway line so if you spot it give us a cheer! And I really need a favour - please can anyone visiting our stall take pics and anything you'd like to share from the day on our facebook page, or tag us on twitter @tauntongaygroup #LoveWinsInTaunton as I REALLY need cheering up - I may be a bit jealous but I want to see you all having a fantastic time. Just a side point, please take care of yourselves this weekend and make sure you mask up, sanitise up, leave space and keep yourself as safe 'as is possible'. Even though fully vaccinated and have been responsible, I'm proof that the little bugger can still get you - I'm really unwell at present, but the vaccination is I am sure keeping me safe from the worst thank goodness. If you are messaging us please note I'm only popping on my phone sporadically at the moment so I'm sorry but may be delay/no reply - and I can't answer any questions about tickets - please refer to the Taunton Pride page. Thanks again to all who are making Pride happen. Have a great time and please show TGG some love on the day. If I can taste anything by Saturday I'll have drink to you all. Best wishes x Stephen #TauntonPride #LoveWins #itsOK2BU #SouthWestPrides #LGBTQ+ #Community #Somerset #SomersetPrides
